Duet Night Abyss: How to Use the Impressions System Guide

Here's a quick guide on how to use the Impressions System in Duet Night Abyss.

Duet Night Abyss uses the Impressions system to track your characters impressions of various situations throughout the game. Your dialog options can increase one of five Impression attributes, Benefit, Morality, Chaos, Empathy and Wisdom. These stats can help you later to pass special dialog checks, unlock additional content and get rewards.

Understand The Five Impressions

Each Impression is a different type of response. You’ll benefit more if you select pragmatic options that give you an advantage. Morality is linked to honest and ethically responsible decisions.

Choose compassionate or supportive responses and you enhance empathy. Wisdom is knowledge, experience and thoughtful decisions. Unusual, Reckless, Rude, and Disruptive choices tend to increase chaos.

Choose Dialog Options Wisely

Completing Main Quests, Side Quests and talking to NPCs will naturally raise your Impressions. You can also boost your stats via Dynamic Quests and NPC interactions. Don’t focus all of your attention on one attribute.

Try to develop all five of your Impressions fairly evenly. Further meetings may require specific characteristics and if you have only one super-developed Impression you may not be ready for some checks.

Pass Impressions Checks

Some conversations have Impression Checks, which you need to meet the difficulty threshold of to pass. When a check comes up, your relevant Impression influences the roll of the dice. Upon a successful check, you may gain access to more dialog, side quests, or rewards.

If you fail a check, and you usually don’t permanently lose access to the option. You can always spend more dice to try again, or come back later after raising the required Impression.

Use Impressions in Lunoeggy's Shop

When dealing with Lunoeggy's Impression Shop, your Impression level counts too. You need certain levels of Impression for some shop types. You may also have to make Impression Checks and roll dice to make a purchase. The more you boost your various stats, the more of the rewards available in the shop you are able to obtain.

The Best Method

The easiest way is to keep playing quests, talk to NPCs as much as you can and not make a point of focusing on just one Impression. Save your dice for important checks and build up all five attributes over time. This ensures that you are ready for a tough dialog option or a good store reward which requires a specific Impression.

Think of Impressions as a long-term progression system, not something you have to grind for right away, and you will naturally unlock more dialog, rewards and opportunities as you go on your adventure.
