Here's a quick guide on the best starter Pals to catch in Palworld.
Having the right Pals can make the first few hours in Palworld much easier. They will eventually be replaced by stronger companions, but a few early game Pals are still useful for combat, crafting, and resource gathering well into the mid game. Here are the best starter Pals you should be looking to catch first thing.
Cattiva
Cattiva is probably the best first Pal you can catch. Its Partner Skill increases your carrying capacity, enabling you to collect more materials before heading back to base. It also has useful Work Suitabilities for Handiwork, Gathering, Mining and Transporting, making it a great all-round worker in your first base. Since Cattiva spawns close to the starting area, there’s no reason not to catch one right away.

Foxparks
Thanks to its unique Partner Skill, which allows you to use it as a flamethrower, Foxparks is one of the most powerful early combat Pals. It also gives you Kindling at your base so you can cook food and smelt Ingots much sooner. Foxparks are handy to have both in battle and around your settlement, since fire attacks are super effective against many early game enemies.
Lifmunk
Lifmunk is another great early companion. It does many important tasks around your base like Planting, Gathering, Handiwork and Lumbering. Once you unlock Lifmunk’s Partner Skill, it can also help you in combat, firing at enemies to provide a little extra damage when the going gets tough. Its versatility makes it a good investment long after the early game.
Pengullet
Pengullet is one of the most versatile starter Pals out there. Water crops, Transport items and help with Handiwork. Useful in nearly every early base. It’s also good in battle because of its Water-moves, which are good against Fire-type enemies you will meet later. Its balanced utility means many players stick with Pengullet deep into the mid-game.

Lamball
Although often overlooked, Lamball is worth catching early for its Wool production. When you assign it to your base, you get reliable source of Wool to craft Cloth, one of the most used materials early in the game. Lamball also does Transporting, so your base can keep running smoothly while you’re out exploring.
Vixy
Unlock the Ranch and Vixy is one of the most valuable Pals in the early game. While grazing, it can unearth helpful items like Pal Spheres and Arrows, saving you some crafting materials. This passive resource generation makes capturing Pals much easier and saves a ton of time.
