Mega Man fans might finally have something new to get excited about. Capcom has shown renewed interest in the blue bomber, and the conversation is now turning toward a series fans have been asking about for years: Mega Man X. According to the sources, Mega Man series producer Shin Shingo Lumi was asked whether Capcom would be interested in making another Mega Man X game.
The answer was encouraging. He said they would "definitely love to visit," while also pointing out that Mega Man X remains an important part of the overall Mega Man brand. That is not exactly confirmation of a new game, but it is certainly more interesting than a polite "no."
Mega Man X has been sitting on the bench for quite a while. The last mainline entry, Mega Man X8, arrived in 2004, meaning fans have now been waiting more than two decades for another proper installment. Capcom has kept the series alive through collections and rereleases, but a brand-new adventure has remained out of reach.
And this is where things get interesting.
