New hints from a trailer sound studio and leaked posters suggest the reveal could come sooner than you thought.
Are we actually on the verge of getting the first real trailer for the Super Mario Galaxy movie? We still do not have a confirmed answer, but new information suggests the debut trailer may be right around the corner.
The first clue comes from a post spotted on Twitter by AdminionsFanboy, who noticed that Black Sheep Music — a company known for high-end audio work on trailers — wrote on Instagram that it was cool to be part of the Super Mario Galaxy campaign with their sound design featured.
They also thanked Universal for bringing them on board for the project. That statement sounds a lot like they worked on the trailer and are hinting that it is done and ready to be shipped.
We already know that Brian Tyler, the same composer behind the first Mario movie, handled the music for the teaser and that he did great work on both projects. So between him and this new comment from Black Sheep Music, it really feels like the trailer is going to hit YouTube pretty, pretty soon.
The movie comes out in April, and marketing needs to kick off soon. By this point in the cycle for the original Mario movie, we had already seen the very first trailer, which dropped on October 6. We are well past that date now.

The second indicator backing that up is that the same Twitter account pointed out that teaser posters for the Super Mario Galaxy movie are apparently already being shipped to theaters as we speak. Someone even listed what looks like the exact teaser poster on eBay, so if you really want to buy one, you actually can. It is not officially confirmed whether those posters are 100% authentic, but there is nothing to suggest they are fake either.
Even without the posters, though, the Black Sheep Music comment alone is strong enough evidence.
Until Nintendo announces a Direct that mayhaps includes it, none of this is guaranteed. But the signs are there for us to see and rejoice because “Mamma mia, it’s me, Mario” is going to be on the big screen again. Give me some of that. And finally, we get to see Rosalina on-screen and get a feel for the film’s overall tone. So that is where things stand at the moment. I am just ready to watch it already.
