God of War Ragnarok is so close now.

God of War: Ragnarök has officially gone gold. The ninth installment in Santa Monica Studios’ titular franchise featuring monstrous god killer Kratos is now closer than ever. ‘Going Gold’ is a massive high point for developers as it means that the game is being pressed by the manufacturers into discs, essentially meaning that they are in the last stage of development.

This next title is set 3 years after the previous title, God of War (2018), and in that time, Fimbulwinter has struck the land. A great winter that will last three summers. In the trailers, we have seen how expansive this next title will be as players will encounter both old and new faces along the way.

They announced that the game went gold on Santa Monica Studios’ official Twitter account:

We are thrilled to announce that #GodofWarRagnarok has gone gold!

On behalf of SMS and all of our partners, thank you to the fans for supporting us over the course of development. We’re almost to launch and can’t wait for you to play on November 9! 💙 pic.twitter.com/vptHyKJ1JP
