Persona 4 Revival is set for February, while Persona 6 could finally make its big move later in 2027.
2027 could turn into a pretty wild year for Persona fans. Atlus already has Persona 4 Revival lined up for February, and if current expectations are right, Persona 6 could follow later in the year. After waiting so long for the next mainline Persona game, that would give fans two major reasons to keep an eye on the series.
Persona 4 Revival isn't just a quick coat of paint on an older game. According to the sources, Atlus is rebuilding Persona 4 with modern visuals, smoother gameplay, and several new elements inspired by games such as Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload.
The remake still appears to understand what made the original Persona 4 special. The familiar story and setting remain at the center, but the combat and presentation are getting a serious upgrade. New trailers have also shown off additional features, giving fans a better idea of how Atlus is modernizing the classic RPG without completely changing its personality.
The game is also tied to important hardware news.
Persona 3 Reload performed strongly on Nintendo Switch 2, reportedly passing 500,000 copies on the platform. Sega and Atlus specifically highlighted the Switch 2 version, which makes it hard to imagine Persona 4 Revival skipping Nintendo's newer console.
The bigger question is when that version will arrive.

If it doesn't launch alongside the other versions, that may not be a bad thing. Persona 3 Reload's Switch 2 release had some performance issues, particularly in portable mode. For Persona 4 Revival, fans may want Atlus to take its time and make sure the game runs properly. And yes, that means 60fps in both docked and handheld modes would be a pretty sweet target.
Persona 4 Revival is also expected to welcome newcomers. Players do not need to work their way through Persona 1, Persona 2 and Persona 3 before starting Persona 4. The games share connections and familiar ideas, but Persona 4 works perfectly well as its own adventure. That could make Revival an excellent starting point for anyone curious about the series. Then there is Persona 6, the elephant in the room.
According to the sources, Persona 6 could launch in late 2027. Atlus has already revealed the game but has not shown much of it yet. That could change once the company's current projects are done. The reasoning is fairly simple. Atlus still has Persona 4 Revival to promote, along with the Switch 2 version of Metaphor: ReFantazio. Giving Persona 6 the full spotlight too early could take attention away from those releases.
Once those games are on store shelves, however, the stage could be set for Persona 6.
Early details point toward another high-school setting and the familiar turn-based combat that Persona fans know so well. At the same time, Atlus has reportedly been working on the game for years, so there is plenty of room for new ideas, combat mechanics, and other surprises.
Persona 5 first arrived nearly a decade ago, so expectations for Persona 6 are understandably sky-high. Atlus has had a lot of time to figure out where the series should go next. With Persona 4 Revival arriving in February 2027 and Persona 6 potentially following later that year, Persona fans may have one very simple problem: deciding which game to play first.
