Persona 4 Remake Confirmation Might Have Just Happened

A renowned Voice actor has hinted at a Persona 4 Remake, reprising his role as Yosuke Hanamura.

For months, there has been little official or rumored information regarding Atlus’s upcoming mainstream game, Persona 6, making the highly anticipated title all the more difficult to track down. On the other hand, with its engaging story and charming characters, Persona 4 won many admirers upon its 2008 release. Some have even ranked it among the series’ finest entries. Persona 4 Golden came out four years after that. Among its many updates are improved visuals and a brand new Social Link named Marie of the Aeon Arcana.

Voice actor Yuri Lowenthal, who played Yosuke Hanamura in Persona 4, has dropped hints about a remake of the game. While Atlus has remained mum on the subject, word on the street is that they are working on a Persona 4 Remake.

Following the success of Persona 3 Reload, rumors have it that Atlus is hard at work on a visually and gameplay-wise improved remake of Persona 4, in addition to the sixth installment in the Persona series. Although the developer has not commented on the rumors just yet, Yuri Lowenthal appears to have verified that a remake is in the works. Nevertheless, an issue exists. In a Bluesky post, Lowenthal said that he will not be returning to reprise his role as Yosuke in the Persona 4 Remake, citing Atlus’s apparent disapproval as the reason.

Fans were shocked to hear that a Persona 4 remake was being considered, and they were disappointed that the voice actor would not be reprising his role. Some were concerned that Lowenthal would incur wrath if he confirmed the existence of the supposed remake, while others shared this concern.

Persona 4 Remake, Atlus

No official statement regarding a Persona 4 Remake has come from Atlus as of yet. Loyal fans lauded the original English voice actor’s performance in Persona 4, so many feel bad if he doesn’t return for Yosuke. Meanwhile, it’s hardly surprising that Atlus would be bringing in new actors or switching up some characters. This is particularly the case because a fresh cast of voice actors has been added to Persona 3 Reload.

Rumor has it that Atlus is hard at work on Persona 6 and a Persona 4 remake so that the studio might be in for a big year or two. Nothing is known about either project just now, but Atlus may reveal more details during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8. Therefore, a large number of supporters would choose to pay close attention during the presentation in case any major announcements are made.
