Lando is still getting his own film in the Star Wars universe, according to Kathleen Kennedy.
The Lando film in the Star Wars universe is still happening, according to an interview with Kathleen Kennedy. Recently, Kathleen Kennedy has officially stepped down as president of Lucasfilm. She was the president for them during their entire Disney era, stepping in after George Lucas left.
Now that she’s gone, Star Wars fans are curious but optimistic about what the future holds. A lot of people blame her for the lack of success in the Disney Star Wars universe. The reigns now belong to someone who is also a big part of the Disney Star Wars era, Dave Filoni. He is someone whom people have a lot more faith in, and so we’ll see if this pays off.
In Kathleen Kennedy’s exit interview, she gave an update on multiple projects, saying that the Lando film was still in the works, as Donald Glover had recently turned in a script. Donald Glover played Lando in the Han Solo film, Solo.
Many people believe it’s the worst Star Wars film, and it’s simply the worst at the box office.

But time heals all wounds, and this might actually help, as some time away from Star Wars in the movies could boost box office.
Also, having Donald Glover write the screenplay is a big plus; he has success in both TV and film. With Kathleen Kennedy out, the future for Star Wars is pretty interesting, and I’m excited to see what they do next.
A lot of people can agree that Donald Glover did a good job acting and portraying Lando. With the film going to be mostly about him, I think that’ll help a lot, and it’s also a character we haven’t seen a ton of backstory for, at least for average Star Wars fans.
