The Last of Us Part 1 Developer Denies Fan Claims that the Game is a “Cash Grab”

The Last of Us Part 1 is a full-scale remake of the original title, which was released in 2013.

Ever since Naughty Dog officially announced that The Last of Us Part 1, a complete remake of the first Last of Us, was being developed at Naughty Dog, fans have been clashing over the pricing. Many players have complained that the prices for what is essentially a 10-year-old game are ludicrous, most citing the game’s Firefly Edition, which costs $99.99.

Morrison clearly exhibits major passion and also takes offense at the idea that this game does not have the same amount of heart and soul poured into it that many other projects have. It is clear that the game has had a lot of work done to it. Remaking a game from the ground up isn’t easy, as portrayed by titles like Resident Evil 2.

Morrison summarised, stating that “A tremendous amount of passion was put into it.” Signing off on his belief that The Last of Us Part 1 is not a cash grab but, in fact, a meticulously designed game developed by passionate developers (which has just recently gone gold). I, for one, cannot wait for the arrival of The Last of Us Part 1 and am eager to see all of the changes and improvements that Naughty Dog has made to the already fantastic original title.

The Last of Us Part 1 releases September 2nd, 2022, on PlayStation 5. Here at GamesCreed, we cover everything related to gaming. From the latest news to stellar reviews, GamesCreed has you covered.
