The new season of The Last of Us could rewrite the history of The Last of Us Part II.

The Last of Us recently released the most in-depth trailer we have seen yet for the upcoming new season. It looks like this season will cover a decent amount of the second game. The first season of HBO’s The Last of Us covered the first game completely, but the second game will be covered across multiple seasons of the television show.

Many speculate about what will be covered in HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 and whether changes will be made to the story. Where the second game’s story will be told across multiple seasons on the television show, it will be interesting to see how they cover it. The second The Last of Us game features a definite non-linear storytelling approach. The game is also longer than the first, covering a lot of characters.

The new trailer showed that they might be covering more of the story than anticipated. Since it’s spread across various seasons, we would assume that not as much of a story will be told. But it looks like some later-in-the-game parts are actually in the trailer.

It is all speculation on what will end up being in The Last of Us Season 2. However, after the first season of the show, it appears that public perception has shifted regarding the game franchise. The show made it easy for people who don’t play video games to understand and enjoy the story that gamers love.

The first The Last of Us game is beloved, but the second one has many gamers on the fence to this day. The Last of Us Part II won plenty of awards, but plenty of people still talk about it negatively to this day due to its story choices, especially how Joel is treated in the story.

With that being said, does that mean that people watching the show will have the same outrage they did when the game came out with its major twists and turns? The show itself has the opportunity to convey the story as effectively as possible to all audiences in a TV format. Many of the complaints people have about The Last of Us II’s story can be altered or improved in the eyes of many viewers. This is something the show’s writers have considered.

We saw the show make multiple changes to the game’s story. One of the most significant changes was the episode that featured Bill’s story. Bill was a character in the game who didn’t have a lot of time in the game, but the show dedicated a whole episode to him and changed his story significantly. This episode went on to win awards and is widely regarded as a beloved classic.

HBO’s The Last of Us’ new season could alter the story from the game more than it did with the first game in Season 1. These changes could help or hurt the story, depending on what they change. The Last of Us Part II introduces multiple new characters, and they may alter aspects such as character traits and motivations. This could help strengthen the story in a visual format compared to the game format.

The talk of the town is how HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 will handle Abby. She was the most controversial character in The Last of Us Part II, so the show might alter the characters or events that occur in the game. The format in which her story is told in the game is unique, so it will be interesting for fans to see how the show tackles it.

If Season 2 gets as much praise as Season 1, it will probably end up changing a lot of the perception of The Last of Us as a franchise. Many people might go back and have a newfound appreciation for The Last of Us Part II who didn’t like it originally. It makes sense, as Part II is coming out on PC soon, just in time for the new season coming this spring. Naughty Dog did the same thing with the first Last of Us game that came on PC and PS5 when HBO’s The Last of Us Season 1 came out.

Since the show’s creators have already won over the audience with Season 1 and gained the trust of HBO and Neil Druckmann, the creator of The Last of Us, we might see a different story compared to the game. They might have had more freedom to adapt the game.

The Last of Us Part II is incredibly complex, with its multitude of characters and the intricate way the story unfolds. It’s going to be a big task for them to do it justice and tell the story effectively, as it will span multiple seasons.

Many consider Season 1 of the show one of the best, if not the best, video game adaptations of all time. The pressure is definitely on for HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2, which covers the controversial game of the series, The Last of Us Part II. Whether they alter the game’s story or not, it will prove to be a monumental task.
