Here's a quick guide on the best base locations in Palworld.
Choosing the right place for your first base in Palworld can make the early game much easier. A good base will have lots of flat land to build on, easy access to Wood, Stone and Ore, nearby low-level Pals and enough space to expand as your base grows. You can always relocate your base later, but it will save you time and resources if you start in a good location.
Plateau of Beginnings
The Plateau of Beginnings is a place where new players can be one of the safest. It’s got a lot of low-level Pals, trees around it, Stone and Paldium deposits, so it’s a good place to learn the game mechanics. The open area is big enough for your first buildings and there are few dangerous enemies. There is only a limited number of ore here, but it is a great location while you are still unlocking early technology.

Near Rayne Syndicate Tower
The open field near the Rayne Syndicate Tower is a popular choice for novices. The area provides a large flat area to build on with lots of Wood and Stone nearby. Narrow entrances also make raiding defense much easier than many other places. There are several useful Pals that spawn nearby so you won’t be short on workers to recruit for your base.
Abandoned Church Grounds
When you feel ready to venture a little further afield, consider building near the Desolate Church. This area is known for its Ore deposits nearby, so you can start making ingots way earlier than people who stay in the starting area. The terrain is fairly flat, and fast travel is close by. It’s one of the best game base locations.
South of the Village
Another good choice is the valley south of the Small Settlement. It has a good mix of flat land, natural resources and nearby Ore nodes. The surrounding area has manageable enemies and is suitable once you've reached the mid-teens in level. This base is kept by many players well into the mid-game due to the ample space for larger production setups.

What Is a Good Foundation?
No matter where you decide to build, be sure to find a location with lots of flat land, some Wood and Stone nearby and if possible, at least a few Ore nodes. And having a fast travel point nearby also makes resource gathering much more efficient. During your first few hours, try not to build in places with steep cliffs, high-level enemies, or extreme temperatures, as they can make progressing a lot harder.
Change Your Base Later
Don’t worry if your first base is not perfect. Unlocking more Palboxes allows you to build new bases close to valuable resources such as Ore, Coal, Sulfur, and Quartz. Many experienced players have one for crafting, one for mining and a third for specialized farming.
The ultimate permanent base is the wrong focus for beginners, who should instead be focusing on safety, space and basic resources. Location is key to progressing faster and automating resource production sooner, as well as preparing you for the tougher regions that await later in Palworld.
