Here's how to get and use Blueprint Fragments in Rust.
Blueprint Fragments in Rust exist to keep players from rushing straight to the best workbenches. There are two types - basic and advanced - each tied to a different workbench tier. The idea is to push players out into the world to farm and explore rather than rushing straight to the best gear.
Workbench Level 1 requires no fragments at all and can be crafted right away. Workbench Level 2 needs five Basic Blueprint Fragments, while Workbench Level 3 needs five Advanced Blueprint Fragments. Getting both types in steady supply becomes a real priority once base progression starts ramping up.

Finding Basic Blueprint Fragments
Every Green Card monument guarantees one basic fragment sitting on the table right next to the blue keycard. This applies across every green card location, including Sewer Branch and Satellite Dish, making these some of the most predictable early farming spots.
Blue Card monuments guarantee two basic fragments, found on the table next to the red keycard. Water Treatment Plant and Airfield both follow this same pattern consistently, so running either one is a reliable way to stock up further along the keycard chain.
Airdrops also have a chance to contain basic fragments. Keeping an eye out for supply signals and Chinook drops is worth the extra effort when one appears nearby, since the fragments found this way add up on top of whatever gets collected from monuments.

Finding Advanced Blueprint Fragments
Hackable Crates guarantee at least one advanced fragment. These show up on Oil Rigs, both large and small, as well as inside crates dropped by the Chinook during airdrops. Since the fragment is guaranteed rather than random here, hacking these crates is one of the most consistent ways to make progress toward a Workbench Level 3.
Elite Crates also carry a chance at advanced fragments, though the odds sit around one in ten. Locations like Launch Site, Military Tunnels, Oil Rigs, and the Missile Silo all tend to spawn more elite crates than most other monuments, which makes repeated runs through these spots the best way to improve the odds over time.
The Cargo Ship is another strong source, since it carries both elite crates and locked crates in the same run. Anyone able to safely clear it stands to walk away with a solid mix of both fragment types in one trip through Rust.

Converting Basic to Advanced
Basic fragments can be converted into advanced ones directly at the crafting menu. Currently, 20 basic fragments convert into one advanced fragment.
Saving up a larger stockpile of basic fragments before converting is the more efficient approach, especially once Workbench Level 2 items are already unlocked. This way, nothing is wasted converting fragments that could still be used toward the current tier's requirements.
