There are plenty of environmental puzzles in Genshin Impact that reward you for paying attention to your surroundings. You will encounter puzzles with elemental monuments, pressure plates, mechanisms, Seelie, hidden switches and other interactive objects. Knowing how to read their clues helps solve them much more easily.

Look Around the Area

If you see something odd, take a moment to look around. Look for the nearest mechanisms, elemental objects, symbols, pressure plates, or objects that look connected. Some puzzles don’t have their clues or required mechanisms right next to the reward; instead, they are concealed nearby.

Identify the Puzzle Mechanic

First, identify the type of puzzle you have. Some require you to use a specific element. Others have you activate objects in a certain order or match patterns. Before interacting with everything, it makes sense to understand the mechanic so that you don’t have to go through unnecessary trial and error.

Use the Correct Element

Many environmental puzzles require a particular element to start their mechanisms. For example, Elemental Monuments need to be activated with the right element. Before you choose a character to interact with a mechanism, look at the symbol or shape of the mechanism.
