Genshin Impact: How to Find and Use Treasure Chests Guide

Here's a quick guide on how to find and use Treasure Chests in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact is full of treasure chests that may contain useful rewards such as Primogems, Mora, weapons, artifacts and materials. Finding them is an easy way to get some extra resources during your time exploring Teyvat. Some chests are simply there; others require puzzle solving, enemy defeating or hidden areas to be explored.

Search as You Explore

Be on the lookout for Treasure Chests when you’re in a new location. You can find them near roads, ruins, cliffs, caves and other interesting places. If you look around closely, you can see chests that you might otherwise just walk past.

Look in Hidden Areas

Some Treasure Chests are hidden in places that aren't easy to see. Look behind buildings, in caves, under cliffs and around weird environmental objects. Sometimes you can find hidden chests if you explore off the main path.

Complete Puzzles

Some of the Treasure Chests are hidden behind environmental puzzles. Look around for nearby mechanisms, elemental objects, pressure plates and other clues that might be linked to the chest. When you solve the puzzle, it will usually open the chest and you will be able to take its reward.

Defeat Nearby Enemies

Some chests are guarded by enemies. If you encounter a locked chest with enemies nearby, kill the enemies to unlock the chest. Be aware of your environment as the enemies guarding a chest are not necessarily right next to it.

Follow Seelie

Sometimes Seelie can direct you to treasure chests. If you see one wandering about in an area, follow it and lead it to its destination. Completing the Seelie’s path will give you a chest reward.

Check Unusual Locations

While you’re out and about, look for places that seem a little out of the ordinary. Chests can be hidden on rooftops, on high cliffs, underwater or behind objects in the environment. Climb, glide, swim and use other exploration powers to reach places you can’t normally reach.

Collect the Rewards

When you open a Treasure Chest, you can click on it to collect the rewards in it. The contents will change with the chest and the area you find it in, so make sure to collect all the chests you find.
