Here's a quick Doctor Strange guide for Marvel Rivals.
Doctor Strange is one of the most essential heroes in Marvel Rivals, providing powerful defensive tools and unmatched utility with his portals as a Vanguard. He is able to take much damage, but his real strength is in controlling the battlefield and letting his team outmaneuver the opposition. Learn to use his portals, shields and positioning and you can turn even the hardest match in your favor.
Portal Placement
When used correctly, Doctor Strange’s portals are a game changer. Don’t just use them at random; build routes that give your team high ground, safe approaches, or quick exits. Portals can allow your teammates to bypass heavily defended chokepoints, and ambush the enemy from unexpected angles.
Try to put them in places where allies can readily see and use them without hesitation. A well-timed portal just before a team fight can completely disrupt enemy positioning, creating easy opportunities for eliminations.

Shielding Management
Your primary defensive weapon is your shield but it should never be up all the time Raise it to block incoming bursts of damage, protect teammates during objective pushes, or soak up dangerous ultimates before lowering it to recover.
If possible, try to get between your backline and the enemies so your shield is protecting multiple allies at the same time. Knowing when to be aggressive with your defensive resources is just as important as knowing when to preserve them.
Team Coordination
The best Doctor Strange is when he’s working very closely with his team. Let teammates know portal locations pre-fight so they know when to rotate or engage. Coordinate pushes with Duelists who want to flank or Strategists who need safer spots to heal from.
In objective fights, get close enough to help your allies, but have a clear view of the battlefield. Doctor Strange is a durable tank, but with strong communication he becomes the centerpiece of your team’s strategy.

Countering Dive Heroes
Doctor Strange is a great protector as dive heroes such as Spider-Man, Venom and Black Panther are good at attacking vulnerable backline teammates. Keep an eye out for possible flank routes and be in a place where you can react fast to diving foes.
Use your shield to block their burst damage while your team focuses them down. Make a portal for threatened allies to get out or to bring reinforcements quickly, if necessary. Successful dives deny aggressive opponents, forcing them to back off and giving your team control of the fight.
Final Words
Doctor Strange rewards players that think ahead instead of just taking damage. Make good portals, know when to shield, work with your team, and shut down enemy dives and you'll be able to dictate the pace of every match and be the backbone of your team’s success.
