Here's a quick guide on how to use The Thing in Marvel Rivals.
The Thing is a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals who is built to take damage, disrupt enemy formations, and defend his teammates on the frontline. He is incredibly resilient and has awesome close-combat skills, allowing him to last through long fights and create opportunities for his team, while forcing enemies into bad positions for skirmishes.
The Thing's damage is nice, but the real value is in his ability to control objectives, get fights started and keep the enemy pressured throughout the match.
Frontline Presence
The Thing is at his best when he is leading the charge for his team. Keep ahead of your Duelists and Strategists to minimize incoming damage and provide a safe space for them to operate.
Do not chase after enemies that are too far away from the objective; your primary responsibility is to maintain control on the front lines. By taking key positions and forcing enemies to engage you first, you make it easier for your teammates to get kills and hit objectives.

Engage Timing
Even The Thing, with his impressive resilience, seldom fights every battle single-handedly. Don't start until your teammates are ready to immediately take advantage of your crowd control and pressure.
Striking at the right time causes the enemy team to split attention, creating opportunities for your damage dealers to take advantage of the chaos. Often waiting and being patient before a confrontation will lead to much stronger team confrontations.
Crowd Control Application
The Thing's powers are designed to slow down the enemy and create opportunities for your team. Use your crowd control skills to counteract hostile behavior. Send combatants, or prevent the enemy from moving forward, or take important objectives for your allies.
Don’t waste those skills on solo enemies when a bigger team engagement is on the horizon. Good crowd control can totally change the dynamics of a confrontation and stop the adversary from executing their tactics.

Protecting Your Backline
A great Vanguard doesn’t just attack, he protects. Watch out for enemy flanks trying to get at your Strategists and ranged Duelists. If an assassin manages to get into your backline, reposition quickly and use your abilities to push away from your allies. Your support players can fix the team and are protected, while your Duelists can do damage without the constant concern of the opposition pressing hard.
Finishing Advice
The Thing encourages players to focus on collaborating rather than racking up personal kills. Positioning yourself well in the frontline, timing your engagements well, using crowd control effectively, protecting your backline. By accomplishing these things, you can become the backbone of your team’s victory and a very dependable Vanguard in Marvel Rivals.
