It only seemed natural that an eventual follow-up in Persona 6 would be released at some point in the future.

Developer Atlus and Sega became hugely successful with Persona 5 and its numerous sequels. Atlus has mentioned that they are working hard on the next installment. So we can say that they are creating something amazing, and work on the next installment of the series is well underway. Though the release date for the next entry in the popular JRPG series has yet to be announced.

Atlus interviewed a lot of people from its staff about the future direction of the studio. This has come out on a recruiting page for Atlus’ Japanese branch. With this information, the developer also clarified that Persona 6 is a huge game that it plans to produce.

Moreover, the firm considers formulating Persona 6 to be incredibly hard because it needs to ensure that it can significantly improve on Persona 5. Naoto Hiraoka, the director of Atlus, elaborated on this, adding that the company is under a lot of pressure to complete Persona 6. “Thanks to the large amount of support we received for Persona 5, we have gotten a sense of accomplishment.

But we can’t stop there. When we created Persona 4, there was the pressure that it had to exceed Persona 3. Now, we will have to create a 6 which exceeds 5,” Hiraoka mentioned. Overall, Hiraoka appears to be implying that Atlus has to expand significantly before it can properly tackle its work on Persona 6.

Then again, this is very certainly why the director’s interview was posted on a recruitment list in the first place.
