Sad news for the fans, Persona 6 will not be releasing in 2025. But there’s another Persona game worth the wait.
While there have been numerous rumors and leaks about Persona 6 over the years, the most recent ones gradually disappeared around the beginning of last year, leaving us with little to no information about the game’s development. Both Atlus and P Studio have been overly cautious about dropping any leaks about the upcoming games or the games they’re currently working on.
Judging by the leaks of Persona 5 Tactica and, more specifically, Persona 3 Reload, which occurred just days or weeks before the game’s formal announcements, it’s really hard to believe when there are leaks about any of the upcoming Persona games, especially Persona 6. However, domain registration for the impending Persona 4 Remake went public recently, coupled with an update to that domain, so it seems like we won’t have to wait long for the game’s reveal.
Midori, a Bronx native and the greatest of all-time (GOAT) leaker for Persona and SEGA games, correctly predicted Metaphor: ReFantazio’s release year and P5X’s worldwide testing schedule in November 2023. He also said that Persona 6 would be out in 2025, with the title reveal still up in the air. We believe Atlus will release Persona 6 in 2026, but the formal announcement might take place during the Summer Game Fest 2025.
Given that Persona 6 has not even been officially announced yet and that we are already well into 2025, it is reasonable to assume that the likelihood of its release this year is quite low.
If Midori was correct in September 2023 when he said that the next Persona mainline game would probably come out in 2026 and that it’s bigger than Persona 5, and that the jump from Persona 3 to 4 to 5 would be more noticeable in Persona 6, then maybe he was right all along.

Interestingly, last year, there were leaks about a Persona 4 Remake. Midori said that Persona 4 Remake was a long way off, suggesting that Persona 6 would most likely come out before it. However, it appears that the reverse is more likely to be true now.
Now that the domain for Persona 4 Remake is out there, and since something similar happened with Persona 3 Reload—the game was revealed at Summer Game Fest—it’s safe to assume that development on Persona 4 Remake really took off after Sega and Atlus saw how Persona 3 Reload broke sales records and became the fastest-selling Persona game ever.
As a first step in commemorating its 30th anniversary, Atlus might release Persona 4 Remake in early 2026 or late 2025, delaying the release of Persona 6 until later in 2026. As the series celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026, it would be fitting to release Persona 6 on, say, Tuesday, September 20, 2026. The very first game in the series was also. This would be in line with Atlus’s release schedule for other games; for example, Persona 5 and Metaphor: ReFantazio were both out on October 11, 2024.
Nevertheless, we still believe that Persona 6 will be released in 2026, even if Atlus originally planned for a 2025 release. This is to ensure that the Persona 4 Remake has plenty of time to flourish before the game’s successor. Both of these games’ reveal events, especially Persona 4 Remake, are now scheduled for the Summer Game Fest.
