Graveyard Keeper 2: How to Automate Wood Production

Here's how you can automate wood production in Graveyard Keeper 2.

Automating wood in Graveyard Keeper 2 means you never have to chop another tree yourself. A zombie cuts the logs, a second zombie hauls them home, and the wood shows up in your yard on its own. It takes a few quests to get there first, so it's worth setting up early.

Unlock the Forest

Start by working through the Into the Forest quest, which hands you the Forest Pass. Once you can enter the forest, the Zombie Lumberjack blueprints become available on your tech tree.

Some of the fights and side quests along this quest line also help open up parts of the area you'll need later, so it's better to finish them than to skip ahead.

Build the Lumberjack Stand

The Lumberjack Stand is easy to build and sits at the sawmill area in the forest. Place a zombie on it and give that zombie an axe, since it won't cut anything without one. You can build more than one stand if you want more wood coming in.

Add the Porter Station

A second zombie is needed for the Porter Station, which carries the cut logs back toward your base. You'll find it in the tech tree under Building, in the Zombie Lumberjack section. Until you finish the next step, this blueprint stays locked and shows up as a question mark.

Clear the Blocked Path

The wood has to travel through the underground route linking the Old Mine to your Factory. If that tunnel is still blocked with rubble, the Porter Station won't unlock and nothing gets delivered. Clear the rubble, and the blueprint appears on your tech tree.

Where the Wood Ends Up

Once everything is running, your porter zombie carries the logs through the tunnel and drops them at your yard's stockpile. From there you can use the wood whenever you need it, and you won't have to cut down any more trees in Graveyard Keeper 2 to keep your supplies topped up.

Finish the Into the Forest quest, staff a Lumberjack Stand and a Porter Station with zombies, and clear the tunnel blockage to get a steady wood supply in Graveyard Keeper 2.
