Here's how to spend your first 10 days in Moonlight Peaks.
Moonlight Peaks plays at a slower pace than most farming sims, and its features unlock across the first days and weeks. This guide covers what to do in each stretch, so you make progress on money, materials, and collectibles without wasting time.
Let the Story Set the Pace in Moonlight Peaks
Story events in Moonlight Peaks unlock new features, so let the cutscenes play instead of rushing past them. Once the mist clears, other areas open, and some stay closed until later. Don't worry if you can't reach a spot yet.

Fishing is one example. Noel gives you a fishing rod for free, reportedly around day three.
Earn Your First Coins in Moonlight Peaks
Fishing and beach pickups pay the best early in Moonlight Peaks. Fish near your house or at the lake whenever a shadow shows up. Fish such as the Whisper are common, and the beach drops shells such as small and large pink conchs.
Sell everything through Chester, the living shipping bin. On night 8 of Spring Year 1, one batch earned 681 gold: 530 from fish, 150 from forageables, and 1 from other items. Your mom also sends money in a letter, reportedly a couple of days in.

Spend All Your Stamina Every Night
The first days have little to do, so gather. Break logs, trees, and stone, and use up your stamina before bed. Collect shells on the beach, since they sell for extra coins.
Dig up the spiral spots on the ground as well. They give recipes and blueprints. Breaking rocks, fishing, and similar actions can drop blueprints too. In one example, a Crystal Obelisk Blueprint dropped while mining.
Hunt Vampsters and Mine in the Cave of Echoes
Vampsters are the small critters you see around town in Moonlight Peaks. The hunt opens around day four, once the curse on the southern bridge clears. Visit the Cave of Echoes in southwest Misty Shores, where Alina explains how to collect them.

Pick one up and carry it to the cave without dropping it. There are 100 to find, so it takes a while. Another part of the cave holds many ores, such as copper, and an online walkthrough also puts gold deep inside. Spend stamina mining them, since you need ores later in the story.
Use Your House as Storage
Your house in Moonlight Peaks works as storage, and your cat reportedly tells you about it around day seven. Open your bag, pick the item, and store it. Space is plentiful, and one review calls it unlimited.
For a bag upgrade, visit Sabrina's shop, the Webb of Wonders. The Inventory Upgrade costs 2,000 coins and adds 10 inventory slots.

Explore the Map and Visit Every Shop in Moonlight Peaks
The map is huge, and areas unlock as you progress. Locked areas reportedly show as clouds on the map. Walk around every day, since you meet new characters and can gather as you go.
Visit every shop, but check the hours, because none stay open all day. Luna sells the seeds you need for farming. Seeds in her first rows cost 10 to 30 coins. For example, Blueberry Seeds cost 20, grow over 9 days, regrow after 3 nights, and yield 3 produce per harvest.
Other shops sell food, recipes, and blueprints, and the carpenter sells house upgrades, including a cooking bundle.

Wait for the Bug Net
The bug net isn't a starting tool. Death hands it over after you progress through the story, so don't plan around a set day. One creator reported day 12 or 13, but it depends on story progress.
What to Do Next
Fish and gather for your first week, then switch to the Cave of Echoes once the bridge opens. Check the shops each time you pass them in Moonlight Peaks, and let the story unlock the rest.
To make a strong start in Moonlight Peaks, you fish, gather, and sell through Chester, store items at home, hunt Vampsters, and visit every shop.
