Here's how to avoid the most common beginner mistakes in Moonlight Peaks.
Moonlight Peaks introduces its systems slowly and explains few of them. This guide covers the money, stamina, and story mistakes that cost players days or a whole season. It leaves out the first-10-days routine, which has its own guide.
Process Crops Before You Sell Them
The wine quest, Orlock's Wine Scheme, shows you kegs, and kegs are one of the best early money makers in Moonlight Peaks.
A keg turns crops into wine, juice, or beer, and quality carries through: the menus show one-star and two-star versions. Grapes regrow, so a keg keeps paying.

Build a few extra kegs, and don't leave them empty while berries sit in storage. White Grape Seeds cost 20 coins at Luna's shop, grow over 5 days, regrow after 4 nights, and yield 3 produce per harvest.
White grapes reportedly sell for more than blood grapes. Cooking raw food into meals works the same way, and a Gazpacho Soup restores 50 energy.
Keep a Stash in Moonlight Peaks
Early money is tight, but selling everything can cost you later. Keep one regular-quality copy of every new fish and insect for quests and the museum.
Also keep four Wolf's Bane, one Nightshade, glowing mushrooms, and a supply of flowers for beekeeping. Some trash is worth keeping if you plan to romance Death.

Anything you put in Chester can reportedly be taken back before you go to bed, since items sell when the day ends. Clothes you regret buying reportedly sell back for the price you paid.
Plant for the Museum
The museum in Moonlight Peaks takes two-star crops. If you skip a seasonal crop, such as eggplants, you wait a full year for another chance.
Plant a few of every seasonal crop, fertilize them, and keep one two-star harvest before selling the rest. Items the museum still needs show a small museum icon in your inventory. The Aquarium Collection starts at 3 of 22.
Fertilizer must go on the soil before planting or while the crop is still a seed. Once the crop grows, it's too late. Fertilizer comes from your barn animals.

Spend Your Stamina Wisely
Stamina in Moonlight Peaks is tight early, but don't go to bed with a lot unused. Cut trees, mine rocks, clear weeds, fish, and catch bugs for the museum. Hoarding basic materials now helps later.
Skip the scythe when you can, since each swing costs stamina. Harvest crops and flowers by hand instead. A patch fixed the net, so missed swings no longer cost energy.
Hellkitten form walks faster than your vampire form, digs up dig spots, and prepares soil, so the shovel becomes optional.

Plan Your Purchases in Moonlight Peaks
You can't afford everything at once, so buy in order. The sequence one creator used: the well from the carpenter, then the Inventory Upgrade at the Webb of Wonders for 2,000 gold, then a better pickaxe, then extra kegs, then the barn.
The barn costs 4,000 gold and holds four animals. Clear the area first, because buildings can't be placed over rocks, trees, or branches. The game won't tell you what's in the way.
Pet each animal daily, and collect wool and milk from the menu. The barn pays you back through eggs, milk, wool, and fertilizer.

Learn Spells in Moonlight Peaks
Spells unlock after you repair your wand. Luna sends you to Sabrina at the Webb of Wonders, who may fix it. Luna then teaches you Aquaflux for free.
It costs 1 mana and waters 16 tiles, and magical crops need it, since normal watering doesn't work on them.
The mana row shows three stars early and four later, and you reportedly recover one each time you sleep.
Many early spells cost two or three, so keep at least one point for your magical garden. Refilliarmus instantly refills your watering can and costs 0 mana.

Check the Request Board
The request board in town takes a few days to start working. Read each request, because some characters are offering you an item, not asking for one.
Albertus' job board shows both kinds. Luna offers 2 Eggs for the taking, and Yabbis trades 650 coins for a Glibby fish, with a 7-day limit.
Keep one of each fish, and the fish requests cost you nothing.

Save Flowers and Clear Weeds
Flowers are the easiest gift to give, and each person takes one gift a day. They become rarer after spring, though, and beehives need many flowers around them to produce honey. Keep a stash.
Weeds spread across the whole map and crowd out new flowers and forageables, so clear them. Don't buy fiber seeds, since clearing fields gives you plenty of fiber.
Carry Vampsters the Right Way in Moonlight Peaks
You must carry each Vampster by hand to the cave. You can't store it in your inventory, change form, or drop it and come back.

If you enter an area with a cutscene, the Vampster returns to where you found it, so check your map for event icons before you pick one up.
Clean Your House and Save Properly
You can smash the rocks and clear the debris inside your house from day one. Two creators waited for a renovation that never cleared it.
House storage connects to your crafting stations, so wood, stone, and crops in the house are reportedly available when you craft.
The game reportedly saves only when you sleep in your coffin, so don't quit mid-night.

What to Do Next
Pick two or three mistakes that match your current stage, like building a keg stash or fertilizing before planting.
Check the request board each day, and clear your house and farm when you have spare stamina in Moonlight Peaks. Come back to the rest as you reach each system.
To avoid beginner mistakes in Moonlight Peaks, you process crops before selling, keep a stash, fertilize before planting, spend your stamina, and carry Vampsters carefully.
