Here’s how to use the Previously Gifted list to learn each resident’s taste in Moonlight Peaks.
Moonlight Peaks keeps a record of how each character reacted to your recent gifts, so you don’t have to memorize every result. This guide shows where that record is and how to use it when you try new items.
Open the Relationship Menu in Moonlight Peaks
Open the menu and pick the heart icon to reach the relationship menu in Moonlight Peaks. Each resident you’ve met has a page there with their current heart level.
![]()
Expect most pages to show zero or one heart early on. In one run, Elvira, Mina, and Ridge each reached their first heart within the first week of daily gifts.
Read the Gift History
Each character page has a Previously Gifted section with your last eight gifts to that person. A mark next to each item shows how they took it.
A heart means they loved the gift, and a sparkle means they liked it. An X marks a hated gift, and an item with no mark landed as neutral. A neutral gift still counts toward friendship, while a hated gift lowers it.

Check Marks in the Gift Menu
Once you’ve given an item to someone, the gift menu reportedly shows its mark the next time you gift that person. A look at the item before you press Give tells you how it will land.
A number next to each mark shows how much the gift counts. In one run, a liked gift showed 2x and a loved gift showed 4x, while a hated gift showed –2x and a neutral one showed 1x.
Keep a Moonlight Peaks Gift Chart
The list holds only eight items, so older results drop off as you keep giving. Copy each new mark into a note or spreadsheet before it scrolls away.
Give each character a row, and sort items under loved, liked, and hated. Keep another column for items you haven’t tried with that person yet.

Test New Items Without Losing Friendship
In Moonlight Peaks, try unknown items with something you have a stack of, like a forageable. A wrong guess then costs little beyond that day’s gift.
Items tied to a character’s work are worth a test. Aras, who runs Third Eye Threads, likes Cloth, while Ridge took Refined Stone without much interest and lost no hearts.
Sell your shells instead of testing them. Most residents hate Clams and Conches, and Tae is the one resident who likes a Conch.
Trash gets the same reaction from almost everyone, with Death, Jada, and Llemi as the exceptions. When a birthday comes up, give an item from your loved column and save the tests for another day.

Trust the In-Game Marks in Moonlight Peaks
Gift lists made during the demo can be off, because the demo didn’t separate loved gifts from liked ones. When your history shows a different reaction than a list online, go with the mark in your game.
What to Do Next
Open the relationship menu and copy each character’s gift history into your chart. Try one new item a day on two or three residents in Moonlight Peaks, and note the mark before the list moves on. Once the loved column fills in, you’ll have a sure gift ready for every birthday.
Check the Previously Gifted list after each gift, and copy the result into your own chart before it drops off.
FAQ
Q. Where can I see what gifts a character likes in Moonlight Peaks?
A. Their page in the relationship menu lists your last eight gifts under Previously Gifted, each with a reaction mark.
Q. What does a sparkle next to a gift mean?
A. The character liked that gift, one step below a heart for loved.
Q. Do hated gifts lower friendship in Moonlight Peaks?
A. They do, and the item shows an X in the gift history afterward.
Q. Should I give shells as gifts?
A. Clams and Conches are hated by nearly every resident, so selling them pays better.
