Fuel is one of the most valuable resources in Honkai: Star Rail as it instantly restores 60 Trailblaze Power. Trailblaze Power is required for almost every farming activity, so Fuel can be used to fast track your account progression massively if used wisely.

You might be tempted to spend every Fuel you get as soon as you get it, but a little planning can get you a long way. Using fuel at the right time allows you to build stronger characters faster and not spend valuable resources on content with only limited long term value.

Guaranteed Upgrades Are A Priority

For new players, the best use of Fuel is farming guaranteed upgrade materials. Character ascension materials, Trace materials, Credits and Character EXP are all great investments because they give permanent upgrades to your roster.

These resources help your favorite characters level up, unlock more powerful abilities and perform better in every game mode. It is far more efficient to spend Fuel on these than trying to get perfect Relics early in the game.

Don't Farm Relics Yet

Farming relics is only worth the investment once you’ve unlocked the top-level Caverns of Corrosion. Early on, you should spend Fuel on Relics as lower-level Relics are replaced quickly as your account grows. Remember that Relics are highly dependent upon random stat rolls, even at the end of the game.

There are chances to burn a lot of Trailblaze Power without getting meaningful upgrades, so it's often better to complete guaranteed upgrades before trying to chase perfect gear.

Fuel Savings For New Characters

Another smart strategy is to stockpile Fuel for new character releases. Getting a powerful five-star character often means you’ll need Ascension Materials, Trace Materials, Credits, and EXP Items right away. This lets you enjoy your new character much earlier and get them ready for challenging content without delay.

Double Reward Events

Fuel also becomes more valuable in limited time double reward events. These events will increase the number of materials you get from certain activities, effectively increasing the value of each point of Trailblaze Power. If you’re not building a character urgently, saving Fuel for these events can maximize your overall resource gain and make your farming sessions far more efficient.

Schedule Your Fuel Use

And finally, don’t waste Fuel. Before you spend it, figure out exactly what materials you need, whether that’s to finish a character’s ascension, upgrade important Traces, or get ready for endgame content like Memory of Chaos or Pure Fiction. Fuel is time saved, so each use should contribute directly to your account improvement.
