Here's a Honkai: Star Rail guide on how to unlock and upgrade Equilibrium Levels.
The Equilibrium Level in Honkai: Star Rail sets the overall difficulty and reward tier of your world. Increase the level to get better rewards from Calyxes, Stagnant Shadows, Caverns of Corrosion and Echo of War, but enemies get stronger too. Higher Equilibrium Levels also allow your characters and Light Cones to reach higher progression thresholds.
Upgrade Your Trailblaze
The first step to raising your Equilibrium Level is raising your Trailblaze Level. Trailblaze EXP is earned through completing missions, visiting locations, beating Calyxes, doing Daily Training and playing different game modes. Some of the milestones on the Trailblaze Levels will unlock Trials of Equilibrium which you will need to complete to progress.

Complete the Equilibrium Trials
Trials of Equilibrium can be found at Trailblaze Levels 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 65. Each trial is a fight against several powerful enemies. Successfully completing one increases your Equilibrium Level by one and increases your Trailblaze Level cap. However, you must complete each trial before you can move past the level milestone associated with it.
Understand the Level Requirements
Trial of Equilibrium 1 becomes available at Trailblaze Level 20. You unlock trials at levels 30, 40, 50, 60, and 65. Complete all 6 trials and you will gain Equilibrium Level 6 on your account and your Trailblaze Level will be raised to the maximum possible at this time, which is 70.
Get Ready Before Every Trial
Before you attempt a trial, ensure that your core characters and Light Cones are appropriately leveled. Don’t go in with an underdeveloped team, upgrade the important Traces and equip the right Relics. Also note enemy weaknesses, as bringing characters that can exploit their weaknesses will make the battles a lot easier.

Higher Levels Equals Better Rewards
The higher you raise your Equilibrium Level, the better rewards you can receive from many farming activities. It also opens up more opportunities to ascend characters and Light Cones and allows you to get to higher-level progression systems. Enemies do get stronger but generally the better rewards are worth it to increase your Equilibrium Level.
Upgrade When Possible
Once your team is strong enough to comfortably finish a Trial of Equilibrium, there is usually little reason to wait. With Higher Equilibrium Levels, your farm becomes more efficient and unlocks better upgrades for your characters.
Keep your main team in good shape, complete each trial as it becomes available, and take advantage of the better rewards to keep on advancing efficiently. If you could do all the explained steps properly, you can rest easy knowing you will have the best Honkai: Star Rail experience.
