Here's how to get and use the Golden Animal Cracker in Stardew Valley.
The Golden Animal Cracker permanently doubles the produce of a farm animal. You unlock it through the Farming Mastery, and then you find it from fishing chests, artifact spots, monsters, and a few other sources. This guide shows you how to use it, how to unlock it, and where to find it.
Using the Golden Animal Cracker in Stardew Valley
You can give a Golden Animal Cracker to any farm animal except pigs. The animal then makes twice as much produce for good. A cow gives twice the milk, and a chicken lays twice the eggs.

Open an animal's menu before you give it a cracker. A small golden cracker icon in the corner means the animal already has one. If the icon is not there, take the cracker and give it to the animal. A small icon shows up above the animal, and the cracker icon then appears in its menu.
Unlocking Golden Animal Crackers
You need all five of your skills at level 10. Once they are, the Mastery Cave opens. It is on the map in Cindersap Forest. Follow the bridges along the small island, and you find a hidden door.
Golden Animal Crackers are part of the Farming Mastery. Once all five skills are at level 10, the XP you earn goes toward your mastery level. When you reach a mastery level, you can claim the Farming Mastery and start to find the crackers. XP from any skill counts, so you don't have to earn it in Farming.

Where to Find Golden Animal Crackers
Fishing is one of the best ways. A regular treasure chest has a 7% chance to drop a cracker, and a golden treasure chest has a 9% chance. Golden chests show up after you claim the Fishing Mastery.
The Skull Cavern treasure rooms have a 2% chance. Artifact spots, the small worms in the ground, have a 0.9% chance. Dig them with your hoe. Slaying monsters has a 0.15% chance, and so does breaking barrels and boxes in the Mines and the Skull Cavern. Chopping down trees can also drop one, but the chance is very small. Daily luck raises these chances a little.

What to Do First
Level all five skills to 10 and keep playing until you reach a mastery level. Then claim the Farming Mastery. After that, fish for treasure chests and dig up artifact spots, since these give you the most chances. Each animal can take only one cracker, and the cracker is lost if you sell the animal, so give them to animals you plan to keep.
To get a Golden Animal Cracker in Stardew Valley, you claim the Farming Mastery and then fish, dig, and fight for a drop, and each cracker you give to a farm animal doubles its produce for good.
