Here's a quick guide on how to avoid common beginner mistakes in Wuthering Waves.
Wuthering Waves offers a lot of progression systems, currencies and ways to build characters and it can be a little overwhelming at first. It’s easy to make mistakes when you’re just starting out, but by avoiding a few common pitfalls you’ll save yourself a lot of time, money and effort and your account will progress much more smoothly.
Reckless Spending of Astrites
Astrites are one of the best currencies in the game. Most new players use them on Standard Banners or to unnecessarily refill Stamina. Astrites are rare, so typically better reserved for Limited Character and Weapon Convene banners with Resonators you actually want.
Disregarding Your Data Bank
Your Data Bank keeps track of the quality of Echoes that can drop anywhere in the world. Some players only care about character level and don’t bother with the Data Bank progression. Getting Early Data Bank unlocks better Echo rarity, so each subsequent farm will be more rewarding.

Improving Every Echo
You’ll have less and less resources to level and tune Echoes with. Dumping all your resources into one Echo after another will quickly burn through your valuable resources. Instead, just upgrade Echoes with the right set of Sonata and strong main stats with promising substats.
Building Too Many Characters
It can be tempting to level every new Resonator you get, but spreading out your resources too thin can be a mistake. Focus on one main team in the early and mid-game so that you can clear content more efficiently before branching out.
Ignoring Team Synergy
The best teams are those with characters that complement each other, not just the highest-rarity Resonators. Intro Skills, Outro Skills, buffs, and how the entire team works together tends to give better results than focusing just on the strength of individual characters.
Inefficient Use of Wave-Plates
Waveplates are one of your most important day-to-day resources and regenerate over time. Keeping them full for long periods slows the progression down greatly. Spending on materials, Tacet Fields and bosses will make your account grow much faster if you are consistent.

Too Early Pursuing Perfect Echoes
Perfect Echoes take a good deal of luck, and some serious farming. When you're using all your resources to hunt for perfect substats, it slows down overall progression in the early game. A good Echo with the right main stat is usually more than enough until end-game.
Summary Points
Wuthering Waves’ progression is not about maxing everything out right now, but about making smart long-term choices. Managing your resources wisely, focusing on a core team, upgrading worthwhile Echoes and exploring the world consistently will help you avoid the most common beginner mistakes and build a much stronger account over time.
