Wuthering Waves: How to Ascend Resonators Guide

Here's a quick guide on how to ascend Resonators in Wuthering Waves.

Resonator Ascension is one of the most important aspects of character development in Wuthering Waves. Leveling up a Resonator increases the level cap, increases its stats and allows you to continue leveling it. If you want your characters to do well in harder content, keeping them up to date with their Ascension levels is critical.

Check Your Ascension Requirements

Go to the Resonator’s Ascension menu and see exactly what materials you need before farming anything. Requirements differ between characters, so farming randomly can be a waste of valuable time and resources.

Ascension materials are typically Shell Credits, enemy drops, local specialties, and boss materials. It can also help you to keep track of where certain materials come from which will make it easier for you to plan your farming;

Farm the Necessary Boss Materials

Higher ascension levels usually require materials dropped by certain bosses. Make sure you’re farming the correct boss for your Resonator before you use Waveplates. If you're making a lot of characters, focus on the bosses your main team needs. This prevents you from investing resources in characters that are not relevant to you at the moment of your account.

Gather Local Specialties

Many Resonators require materials found only in certain parts of the open world. These local specialties can take a while to respawn so it’s a good habit to collect them when you see them. If you plan to build a character later you can gather their local materials beforehand so you don't have to wait when you're ready to ascend them.

Farm Enemy Drops

Regular enemies all over the world can drop materials needed for Resonator Ascension. If you are low on a specific material, use the in-game tracking system to locate the correct enemies. Also, don’t neglect enemy drops while exploring. Collect them! By the time your Resonator hits their next level cap, you may already have a lot of what you need.

Save Your Shell Credits

Shell Credits are needed for Ascension, but also for weapons, Forte upgrades, Echoes and other character upgrades. If you use them frivolously then you can be left in the lurch when a vital upgrade comes along.

Raise your Union Level

It is not only materials that are required. Higher Ascension stages also need Higher Union Levels. Keep leveling your account up if you have enough materials but can’t upgrade your Resonator any further. Complete quests, daily activities, exploration, and anything else that you can find to raise your Union Level and unlock more progression.
