Here's a quick guide on how to build the best F2P teams in Wuthering Waves.
In Wuthering Waves, you don't have to spend any money to build a strong team. Understanding how Resonators work together and building teams around proper roles, rotations, and synergies, free-to-play players can clear most of the game's content.
Understand Your Team Roles
A typical balanced team has a Main DPS, Sub-DPS and Support. The Main DPS is the character who spends the most time on the field dealing damage. The Sub-DPS will deal extra damage and effects before going off, and the Support will heal, buff, or provide other utility. There are a few teams for which a different combination is possible but it makes team building much easier when you have a clear purpose for every Resonator.
Build Around Your Main DPS
Choose the Resonator you want to use as your Main DPS to begin. Once you’ve selected them, look for teammates who directly enhance their performance. Look out for elemental synergies, Outro Skills, Resonance Liberation effects, and team buffs. Someone who gives a strong buff to your Main DPS can be more valuable than another character that just does decent damage.
Don’t put several characters together just because they are individually strong. A team with good synergy will generally outperform three powerful characters whose abilities don't work well together.

Use Free & Easy to Get Resonators
There are several useful Resonators available to F2P players without spending money. Progression, events, standard pulls and other free sources can net characters that will be the foundation of strong teams. No stress to get all limited characters now. Instead, put your resources into a few reliable characters and build them right.”
Value Synergy Over Rarity
One common mistake is to think that a team with five-star characters will be better. Just because something is rare doesn’t mean it will synergize well. A well-built four-star Support can be more valuable to a team than a poorly matched five-star. Focus on what each Resonator actually does and how their abilities work together.
Build Around Rotations
A good rotation should have a good team. Usually, you will use your Support’s skills first, switch to your Sub-DPS to trigger their skills and buffs, and then bring in your Main DPS to benefit from those effects.
Practice switching between your characters smoothly. Good rotations allow you to maximize buffs, while minimizing time spent waiting for unnecessary abilities.

Don't Spread Resources Too Thin
F2P resources are limited, so don’t try to build all the characters you own fully. Prioritize the levels, weapons, Forte upgrades, and Echoes of one or two teams first. When your main team is strong enough, you can start investing in a second team for more challenging content like the Tower of Adversity.
