Some of the best exploration rewards in Neverness to Everness are in rare chests, which can contain premium currency, upgrade materials, equipment, and other valuable collectibles. They are not ordinary chests, and often are hidden behind puzzles, guarded by powerful enemies or hidden away in places that are not obvious. Knowing where to look and what to look for will help you find them much more efficiently.

Discover All the Corners

Rare chests rarely stand around out in the open. Check rooftops, narrow alleyways, abandoned buildings, underground passages and elevated platforms all across Hethereau. There are plenty of rewards hidden above and below street level, so don’t restrict your exploration to main roads. Often, to find treasure that other players miss, you need to climb buildings and check hidden pathways.

Environmental Conundrums

Many of the rare chests are only unlocked by solving puzzles nearby. This could be something like flipping switches, using items in the right order, or solving little environmental puzzles.

Take a few minutes to check out any strange objects or glowing machinery you see nearby before you move on. The key to the chest is usually the puzzle.

Beat Elite Enemies

Some rare chests are guarded by elite monsters or combat encounters. Kill any groups of enemies that you come across, particularly in areas that look like they were made to be battle arenas. Once you kill the enemies, the chest will often open itself to give you better loot than your average treasure chest.

Unlock and Use the Guide 

A particularly useful exploration aid is The Guide, a special companion who will point out nearby hidden collectibles, such as treasure chests that aren’t immediately visible. After you access a new district, assign it to your quick-access wheel and you’ll find exploration to be a much more efficient process.

Test Different Conditions and Times

Not all collectibles are available all the time. Some exploration targets and hidden finds are revealed only at certain hours of the day or under certain circumstances. If an area appears incomplete, try returning after advancing the in-game clock or making progress in the story.

Use an Interactive Map 

For the full exploration, an interactive map of the community can save you a ton of time. The maps allow you to see which chests you’ve found and which collectibles you’ve missed, making it so much easier to complete each region without having to revisit the same areas over and over again.

Keep Going After Story Missions

Many players will leave an area once its main quest is done, but it’s worth going back later. As you progress in the game or unlock new movement abilities, new routes, puzzles, and hidden treasures may open up. Go back to previous districts regularly, it’s one of the best ways to find rare chests you couldn’t reach on your first visit. Be patient, and explore! Slowly you will collect valuable rewards and increase your overall exploration progress.
