Neverness to Everness: How to Participate in Racing Challenges Guide

Here's a quick guide on how to participate in Racing Challenges in Neverness to Everness.

Racing Challenges is one of the Hethereau Hobbies in Neverness to Everness that lets you race against NPC racing teams and earn Fons and other rewards. One of the earlier Hethereau Hobbies you may unlock is Racing which becomes available after reaching City Tycoon Level 2.

Unlock Race Challenges

To unlock Racing, progress through the main story until the City Tycoon system is unlocked, then upgrade your City Tycoon Level to 2. Once you unlock it, you can go to the Hethereau Hobbies menu and start racing and challenging the city's racing teams.

Locate an Active Race

Racing Challenges are timed by game time. Open your map and locate the pink flag icon that signifies an active race location. Different racing teams run at different times, so you may have to set the in-game time prior to a specific challenge opening up.

Pick The Right Vehicle

To join a Racing Challenge, you’ll need a qualifying car. For these races, you can’t use motorcycles or electric scooters. Choose your favorite car and inspect it before you begin. If the car has been damaged, you can fix it from the vehicle selection screen.

Choose Race Challenge

Upon arrival at the race location, speak to the NPC to view the available challenges. There are different courses and objectives for each racing team.

In addition to winning the race, you may have other objectives, such as finishing with a certain lead or meeting some other condition. The more you complete the objectives, the more you are rewarded.

Prepare For The Weather

The weather can impact the way the cars handle during race time. Rain and snow can reduce grip, so fitting appropriate tires can give you better control of your car. Some courses have fixed weather, so you cannot change it before you start the race.

Repair and Improve Your Car

A damaged car can perform noticeably worse in a race, so always check its durability before. If you upgrade important components such as the engine and frame, you can also improve your performance and be able to handle more difficult challenges without immediately having to buy another vehicle.

Additional Objectives

There are other ways to maximize your rewards than winning. Many racing challenges feature additional objectives, which reward extra Fons upon completion. Focus on finishing first only after you feel comfortable with the course.
